The Tingleys-United
Song Sung to the tune of the
Battle Hymn of the Republic By: Ann Lee of Victoria, BC
Revised by MGS & ABS Once in England lived a family and
Tingley was its name Chorus From North to South
and East to West this family has spread, Chorus Our fathers and our
mothers all were members of that band Chorus And o'er this land
has sprung a band ten thousand great and strong Chorus
But Palmer left
his land of birth and to New England came,
And by this act of valor
worth he brought the family fame,
And he went marching on.
We are Tingleys
United,
We are Tingleys United,
We are Tingleys United,
As we go
marching on
They tilled the land and grew
the grain from which to bake the bread.
They fought with flood,
withstood the drought and faced the Indians red.
But they kept marching
on.
and we are here together now,
from all across the land,
With thanks to give to that brave band who
finally took their stand,
And just kept marching on.
With farmers, teachers,
doctors, preachers, lawyers to right wrong
And as we face tomorrow with
its problems great and small,
We'll still keep marching on.
