NEWS RELEASE Gubernatorial Candidate Tarbell Taps Abbott To Help Campaign Republican candidate for Governor Charles Tarbell has hired Manchester political and business consultant Stephen Abbott to help coordinate his campaign. Abbott, principal of Stephen Abbott Communications, will coordinate and oversee the New Castle Republican’s campaign message, as well as media relations and advertising efforts through the Nov. 2 general election. The 37-year-old consultant has been campaigning on behalf of candidates as a volunteer and as a paid consultant for most of his life. In 1980 and 1984, he was a Ronald Reagan volunteer. Most recently, he has advised several Republican state representative candidates on campaign strategy. Tarbell said Abbott brings a news and public relations writing background to the campaign. "I am pleased to welcome Stephen as my campaign coordinator," he said. "He brings valuable political campaign, public relations and news writing skills that will add a great deal to my campaign." Abbott said he is honored to have been tapped for the position.
