Release Abbott Elected President of Non-Profit FOR MANCHESTER Stephen Abbott, principal of Stephen Abbott Communications, has been elected president of FOR MANCHESTER , a non-profit organization that helps other non-profits become more successful. Abbott was elected by the board of directors to a one-year term Wednesday, Feb. 16, at group’s annual meeting at the New Hampshire Institute of Arts. He said he would tap the six-member board of directors’ skills and create a volunteer database to make the organization more effective. "I see our vision as being committed to becoming the prime source for sustained, city-wide community-building efforts to improve Manchester’s quality of life," he said. Abbott has been a member of the group’s board of directors since June, 2004 FOR MANCHESTER is a volunteer network dedicated to helping non-profit programs that are working to make Manchester a better place in which to live and work. The group is a partner, incubator and support network for non-profit programs that hope to become self-sustaining, or need help becoming more successful.
